Thank you to everyone who joined us for this event! You can still watch the video here. The Powerpoint is available to view as well.

Speaker: Anthony Perl, Professor of Urban Studies and Political Science, Simon Fraser University.

We had an interesting conversation with Professor Perl as he shared how high-speed rail was developed in China and if there’s anything the US can learn from their approach.

China’s high-speed rail network has developed rapidly over the last 15 years. With the first passenger dedicated HSR line opening in 2008, as of 2021 the HSR network covers over 22,000 miles. It is the largest HSR network in the world and the most extensively used, and China is committed to continue expanding the network.
