Tell Congress to Approve $5 Billion for Trains!

August 08, 2014

Have you had a chance to check out today’s article about high-speed rail in the New York Times? It’s been making the rounds on social media and generating a lot of buzz – for the
wrong reasons.

The article takes the Administration to task for the slow progress on high-speed rail.

The fact is this couldn’t be farther from the truth. Obama has the right vision, Congress has been standing in the way.  Please tell Congress to stand up and support at least $5 billion in annual funding for trains.

The Administration has an excellent vision for bringing America’s transportation infrastructure up to 21st century standards. For years the Administration has put forth budget proposals with a steady stream of funding for rail. Just yesterday Anthony Foxx, Secretary of Transportation, called on Congress to vote for dedicated funding for passenger rail.

Can you tell Congress you support $5 billion in funding for trains?
