Ask your senators to support HSR
Last year, we celebrated the passage of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, which appropriated substantial funds for intercity passenger trains. However, that is just the foundation. Congress also needs to appropriate money every year to create a growing nationwide program.
Additionally, the IIJA did not fund the high-speed rail account.
Senator Ossoff (D-GA) and Senator Padilla (D-CA) are leading a sign-on letter to the Transportation Housing and Urban Development (THUD) appropriations committee requesting that $10 billion be allocated to world-standard high-speed rail in the FY2023 budget.
